Happy Valentines Day!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by and it’s already Valentines Day! This is my 5th Valentines with Andy and sadly I will be spending most of my day at the design building but that’s okay we’ll get to celebrate this weekend!
This holiday may mean nothing to some of you but I’ve always loved this day! I like to think this holiday is a part of me because it was the day my parents had their first date. My mom and dad went to Minnetonka highschool together and have been friends since the 10th grade. They always hung out in the same friend group but it wasn’t until they were 19 years old at University of Wisconsin Green Bay that they finally started dating. On February 14th 1979 my dad took my mom out on their first date to The Black Friars Club where they ate steak and became forever valentines. My parents have a great relationship and I really look up to them… I love the cheesy cards they give each other, I love that my dad spoils my mom and thinks of unique ways to surprise her, and I love the way my mom cares for my dad especially after his major leg surgery this last year. Sure they’re not perfect, but they’re perfect for each other and I’m lucky to have parents who love eachother as much as they do.
